As a development worker, I spend a large portion of my time in airports, planes, trains and cars to be a small part of our programming in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. The travel is exciting, mundane, revitalizing and tiring. This is my take on what I observe  and my semi-normal life in between.

    Jo,

These are wonderful stories. Keep telling them. You are giving voice to the unheard.

    We’re praying for you.

  2. I work with Desiring God’s International Outreach team. We are going to print a Creole translation of “For Your Joy”. Since the earthquake we have received many inquiries for Haitian Creole Gospel resources. Though we understand many ministries are still in the emergency survival phase, especially in the Port a Prince area the requests to us for resources have increased in the last few weeks as it seems some ministries have been able to begin to transition into the long term rebuilding phase. We wanted to see if you had any need for these resources. We have just received approval to do a print run and are hoping to see what sort of quantities ministries like World Relief would be able to use so we can calculate that into the print run. We will cover the costs for these if your team could make use of them as they minister to many hurting people in Haiti.

If you have any questions please let me know. You can email me or call me on my cell 612.217.4717

Together with you in the Greatest Cause,
    Seth

    hi Joanna!
Melanie sent me a link to your blog- it is terrific. You are a gifted writer!

I could relate to the mice/rats while sleeping, and the rollercoaster in PP (when are risks appropriate?) And scary road trips— I died a thousand deaths on the roads of Bangladesh!

I was curious about the solar-powered MP3 players you are using— are they Megavoice, or another company?

I’ve recently learned about a ministry called Megavoice that produces solar-powered MP3 players pre-loaded with the Bible and, and you can also get other health messages or whatever puton them- they are $30 each through them.

I was thinking of having the CSP in Nias use them, as it would also strengthen the church, and I have missionary friends in Ethiopia who have been using them to very good effect among the orthodox.

I’ll add you to my prayers, and I know God will protect you when you are doing His work by His Spirit!

    keep your blogs coming!

    Olga
